Sending Artwork
Sending electronic art files via E-Mail:
Art files may be sent to: artdept@versa-tags.com. If your file is too large, use self-extracting compression software (such as Winzip or Stuffit). If the file is still too large, call customer service for instructions on using our FTP site.
Specifications for sending digital files:
Use a minimum line weight of .007” (or .5 points). Type size should not be lower than 6 points. If your design requires a graduated screen, keep in mind dot percentages should not exceed 95% and be no lower than 5%. Keep design 1/8” away from the edge of the die. Be sure your file is to scale and specify exact dimensions. NOTE: If the file has an imbedded raster image (Photoshop, TIFF) please include the original image used to create the artwork.
Accepted Programs and File Formats:
- Freehand MX or lower
- Illustrator CS 3 or lower
- Photoshop CS 3 or lower (leave in layers)
- PDF format
- EPS format
- TIFF (one color only or 4 color process)

Please send your artwork according to the specifications listed above. Resolution must be 300 dpi or higher at finished imprint size. The art should be in CMYK colors. Be sure to specify exact dimensions and that your file is to scale. NOTE: If the file has an imported raster image (Photoshop, TIFF) please include the original image used to create the artwork.
Fonts:
Fonts must be converted to paths (outlines in Illustrator, paths in Freehand) prior to artwork submission. Failure to do so may result in fonts dropping and Versa-Tags choosing our closest font.
Helpful Information:
- Saving a TIFF, JPEG, BMP or GIF in an accepted program does not make the file usable art.
- Increasing the dpi of a file will not raise the resolution. Artwork should be created in no less than 300 dpi.
- Most internet graphics are unsuitable for printing because of their low resolution.
